Common Breeds of Rabbits
Below are some common breeds of rabbits:
1. Alaskan: Black in color, this breed has a thick coat and weighs about 2.7-3.9 kg. Its origin is Germany.
2. American Standard Chinchilla: It has fine fur that is smooth and glossy, with a 1 ¼ inch long coat. The body is dense and relatively round, weighing 4.1-5.5 kg. It originated from Chinchilla.
3. American Checkered Giant: Its color is black with white or blue markings along the spine, body spots, cheek spots, colored ears, eye circles, and butterfly marks on the nose. It can weigh up to 5 kg at maturity.
4. American Fuzzy Lop: This breed comes in a variety of coat colors. It has a compact, muscular body, a dense coarse coat, and ears folded over to slightly below the jaw. It weighs about 1.6-1.8 kg.
5. American Sable: Sepia brown in color, this breed has a medium build with a soft, dense fine coat and coarse guard hairs. It weighs between 3.2-4.5 kg.
6. Argentes: This breed comes in black, blue, brown, or creamy white. It weighs between 2.3-3.6 kg.
7. Belgian Hare: Reddish tan or chestnut with slate blue undercoloring, this breed has a slender build and fairly stiff coats. It weighs 2.7-4.3 kg.
8. Britannia Petite: Weighing under 1.1 kg, this breed has ruby white eyes and comes in black, chestnut, or agouti colors. It has a slender, fine-boned build with a sleek, silky coat.

15. Dwarf/Blanc de Hotot: Weighing less than 1.4 kg, this breed is white with black eye rings and has a rounded body.
